PRP for PCOS Hair loss
What is PCOS?
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that effects the endocrine system of females of reproductive age. This condition is believed to possibly effect nearly 1 in every 5 women. Women with PCOS may experience a variety of symptoms including increased acne, irregular period cycles, insulin resistance, increased body hair, and pattern hair loss of the scalp. PCOS has impacted members of Dr. Rosanelli's family and staff, in addition to patients.
Benefits of PRP treatments for PCOS related Pattern Hair loss
Many oral medications for hair growth often are not ideal for female patients with PCOS as they often will stimulate hair growth throughout the entirety of the body.* Targeted treatments such as PRP avoid this issue as only the scalp of the patient is being stimulated.
